The apartment inside had a very large patio with a lot of windows. It was smaller than the outside apartment, but it too was very nice. John also showed us a two bedroom apartment in the main building. The area felt like it's own little neighborhood. We really liked that each home had it's own garage. The apartment had a nice private patio with a nice view too. First, we saw a two bedroom, two bathroom home with a great view of the lake. Most everyone stopped and introduced themselves. The areas around the community are beautiful and everyone we ran into was very friendly. We sat in a one bedroom apartment and talked for a few minutes and then showed us around. He was very friendly and made us both feel welcome. ![]() After a couple of minutes the salesperson John came and met with us. They both were really pleasent and also offered to get us something to drink. As we were waiting the manager Tony and his wife came out and introduced themselve. After asking how she could help us she offered us coffee and water and then went to get the salesperson. As we walked into the community we were greated by a very nice receptionist named Lysa. We were suprised by how large the property is and they indeed have a lake hidden behind the building. We had always wants to stop by and see the facility. Skirt to the right along the lakeshore and climb to a pass known as "Broken Saddle." Then continue up a ridge the right, where you'll find a high point with a panoramic view of all Three Sisters and most of Central Oregon. It's worth following the path another 0.7 mile. The milky green lake has a breathtaking view of a glacier clinging to Broken Top's crags. Head for a jagged notch in the hill with the lake's outlet creek. Drawf blue lupine and red paintbrush cling to soil between patches of bedrock worn smooth by ancient glaciers.Īnother mile of climbing brings you to a snowfield beside a sandy moraine hill. Beyond this the only trees are struggling whitebark pines. In another half mile, two little waterfalls froth through bare rock to the right. This path soon crosses a creek where you'll have to hop on rocks.
